FAQs

Do you sell online?

I am currently only selling at in-person markets and stores in the Bloomington, IN area.

If you are in the area and there is something you are interested in, I am happy to send photos of my current stock and arrange for a drop-off or public meet up!

I hope to offer online sales by the end of 2025 or early 2026.

Are your ceramic pieces safe for dishwasher / microwave / oven?

  • Dishwasher: Generally, yes. All of the pottery that I make has been tested and is dishwasher safe. However, dishwashers can be tough on handmade items, so it is recommended that you hand-wash all items! Hand washing will help protect the pottery and make sure you can enjoy it for years to come!

  • Microwave: Yes - they are microwave safe. Please use caution with items that do not have handles - such as a tumbler - as they may be too hot to handle out of the microwave.

  • Oven: I do not recommend using my items in the oven. The advice that I have received from my clay manufacturer is that my clay is not specifically made for bakeware. Because of liability issues, should you use one of my items in the oven, it is recommended that the item be put in a cold oven and then preheating.

My item broke! Will you fix it for free?!

Once you purchase an item from me, it becomes your property. If an item is broken, fixing it with something like superglue is not something I would recommend - especially if that item is being used for food or to hold water (like a vase). That being said - I’ve broken my most cherished mug, and it now sits happily on my desk - held together with superglue - and holds pens and pencils :)

If an item should break through no fault of your own, please contact me via email with a photo of the item, and I will work something out with you on a case-by-case basis.

I absolutely LOVE this piece, but it’s out of my price range…

While I believe my prices to be fair, I also understand what it’s like to have a budget. If there is a piece that you love, please feel free to make an offer and we can discuss options!

What’s “wrong” with your Misfits? Why are they discounted?

In short - there is nothing “wrong” with the Misfit pieces that I sell. Simply put, I just don’t like the way they look :)

I inspect every piece that I sell and will NEVER sell an item with a chip, crack, or other flaw that could impact the longevity or safety of the item.

The “Misfits” that I often have with me at markets are pieces where the design or glaze did not turn out as I anticipated, or the size/proportion may be slightly off from what I was intending. Visually - they just don’t meet my standards, but there is no reason that they can’t be enjoyed by the right person!
